“My daughter Willow was diagnosed with very aggressive kidney cancer in October at just 3 years old. It has been an incredibly rocky road. Willow was diagnosed at Stage 4, and the cancer had spread to her lungs, including a massive tumor in her right lung. She went through numerous chemotherapy treatments, but eventually became chemo-resistant, meaning the treatment was no longer working on all of the tumors. New tumors were also developing closer to her heart.
Because of this, her doctors recommended a high-dose chemotherapy treatment in hopes of shrinking the tumor. It worked on the largest tumor and allowed us to move forward with lung surgery to remove all of the tumors. We were hopeful that, as she recovered by April, this would put her into remission. Unfortunately, we found out that the cancer had returned to her lungs. At that point, our options were becoming very limited. We tried another three cycles of chemotherapy, hoping it would do something for Willow, but once again, the treatment failed to produce the results we were hoping for.
After talking with a few other parents at Children’s Hospital who were there for their children, they told us about The Alternative and a system called the Energy Enhancement System (EESystem). They shared the results they were seeing, which seemed almost unbelievable. At that point, I wanted to give my daughter everything I could and explore anything that might help her.
I reached out to Tara Niles at The Alternative to learn more about the EESystem, what we could expect while she was in the system, and what protocol Tara recommended for Willow.
Because Willow had been through so much treatment, her body was struggling to recover. We were amazed by what we began seeing almost immediately after starting at The Alternative. After her first session, we began seeing changes in her lab work. Her immune system counts and other numbers had been struggling, but we were amazed to see how quickly those numbers increased within a day or two after just one overnight session in the EESystem.
After three overnight sessions, Willow had a CT scan, and we received GREAT results. In fact, they were the best results we had received throughout our entire journey since her diagnosis. Of the five tumors in her right lung, two had disappeared completely. The remaining three had decreased in size from 6 mm to 3 mm. Her doctors were surprised by the results. The most common treatments for childhood cancer are typically chemotherapy and/or radiation. After Willow had been declared chemo-resistant and modern medicine options were dwindling, you can imagine our surprise and the doctors’ shock when we saw such significant changes while using an alternative modality. Not only did we see her ANC and bone marrow counts rise dramatically, but we also saw a decrease in the size and presence of the tumors altogether.
We were incredibly happy and grateful to see these changes, but there was even more to celebrate. Willow was able to eat and gain weight, which was the first time since the beginning of this journey that she had gained weight. Her energy and spirit were also noticeably better.
As a parent, I cannot put into words how grateful I am to see my daughter eating, gaining weight, having more energy, and feeling more like herself. On top of that, we continued to see positive markers in her lab work, scans, and imaging. This has been an incredibly difficult journey, and we are so grateful for every bit of hope and support we have found along the way. For our family, The Alternative and Tara have become an important part of Willow’s journey, and we are incredibly grateful.”
